Taming of the MOMMY

We were driving on fumes as we hit the road today and even started slowing down from 60 to 40 and sputtering our way to the Shell Station that was just in sight. I kept thinking about my cell phone that my husband accidentally took to work and how hot it was if we were to break down. I decided that we needed to pray and had the girls do that for me as I continued hoping we would make the next few paces. Right after the prayer the car sped up and acted normal and we were able to get the gas and be on our merry little way. I had no idea that this blessing would also become a lesson for myself!

After we drove away, Alyssa was observing the situation and said, "I wonder if the cars behind us saw how slow we were and if they got frustrated!" Then there was a pause and she continued. " You know mom, what if the cars that have been slow in the past in front of us were almost out of gas or had some other problem and you'd say 'C'mon lady! Go faster!" or other things! and they were just having problems!"
Oh! How very observant and grown up for an 8 year old, I might say. Right then and there I had been put in my place and now it is ingrained in my head for future slow drivers to have more compassion and patience from me!

Lesson to be learned...cat fighting behind the wheel is NOT good nor a great example for the kiddos! Though in my defense I usually am pretty good behind the wheel, but some drivers need to go back to drivers ed! :)
